Discordance / The Apple of Discord

As humans in today's society it's easy to forget how important nourishing your body is, and I needed to acknowledge the fact that food is art, and it is necessary.
The Apple of Discord was a semester long market project completed during fall 2022 that is still ongoing. During this project I learned about promotional material, professionalism, product production, the arrangement of displays, and how to manipulate a laser engraver- the latter of which has helped me extensively in all my practices since.
The original market project was completed in November of 2022, though I have completed an additional market in February of 2023 with a smaller group.
My mission while I was working intensely on the Apple of Discord was to make original wall art, kitchen décor, and accessories at various price points. I wanted my original fine arts products to be affordable and hand designed by myself every step of the way. In order to accomplish this I mass manufactured wooden pin faces, hair pins, and charcuterie boards with hand illustrated designs, then hand painted and sealed them. In addition, I also painted still life paintings of various foods on small plaques and charcuterie boards. Below are some samples of the products I made for both the Fall 2022 and February 2023 markets that I have participated in thus far.
